they do used html, so a basic myspace layout would work. and you go to control panel on youe sidebar thing under that click settings and then customize your page. then add your code under custom style sheet.

Inorder to access those profiles..You should have a Domain Admin account(If ur in a domain) or a Local Administrator rights...

Did you by any chance still have another layout code in your profile? If you add two together, they will conflict.

there could be many different problems. Check and see if u hav 2 backgrounds cause if do they won't work. Also some backgrounds just flat out won't work i had one like that once. If it still won't work after my ideas ask Tom. He is the creater of myspace a multibillion dallor website.

From what I understand from similar asked questions you just make an account with photobucket and then get the direct url code, but everytime I go to paste the code on myspace I go to edit profile and then in the about me box I paste it in because thats how I do it with other layouts, but it doesn't show as a background layout, just a address in that section of my photo... I must be doing it wrong anyone know how this works or if its even possible? I would really greatly appreciate it....

Alot of those profiles were paid for, not free. The guys in the MySpace-Customizing forum (the regs) - alot of them have those types of profiles. One guy in there, Abraxus, is well qualified to help you do that type of customization. Or he can lead the way for you.

If you can join the HTML and CSS group (it's private), they for SURE can help you with it. Most of those layout types rely heavily on Flash, PhotoShop, and Dreamweaver. It's way more involved than inserting code.
Join relevant MySpace groups that post and teach users tutorials on customizing their myspace pages.

OK.. this is what you do... Go back to the site where you found the background. There should be a code for it, or you may have to click on a button that says get the code. Either way, it's gonna be a code that starts with a %26lt;style and it's going to be a long code. It should end with a %26gt;

Copy the entire code, go to edit profile on your myspace home page, and then in one of the sections (it's easier to pick just one and don't put anything other than your layout/background code on it), paste the code. Save all changes and see if it's what you were wanting. If not, then just go in and remove the code you had put in and save changes again. Hope I was able to help. :-)

Not much of an answer, but I don't think your code is incomplete. It's probably missing more code for coloring the different texts, which you could probably get from other sites. The one I used to make my layout was MyGen, which was pretty easy to use.

The html code for changing the color of text is %26lt;font color=#"FF0000"%26gt; That is the hexacode number for red as well. Just put this code before what text you want to change and it will be red.

I found a very nice layout and copied and pasted the code in the "about me" section. When i preview the profile, (before the page is fully loaded) the layout apperas and looks great, then after the page is fully loaded, my profile remains in the same way it has always been. Just the text font and color changes. The background remains the same. In the "about me" section appears an advertisment of the site I got the layout from.

This is driving me mad.

Make sure you don't have any layout codes in your other sections such as "Who I'd Like To Meet", etc. The ONLY layout code you should have should be in your "About Me" section!

Delete all of your previous codes from the "About Me" section (until it is blank) and re-paste the one you are trying to change it to.

To change your Window fonts:

To change Windows visual effects:

You can change some visual effects in Display Properties and others in System Properties in Control Panel.

Change visual effects in Display:

1.Open Display in Control Panel.

3.In the Effects dialog box, select the check box for those items you want to turn on.

*For information about a specific item, right-click the item and then click What's This?.

Change visual effects in System:

To change the number of colors displayed on a monitor:

*Your monitor and video adapter determine the color settings that are available for your screen.

*Changes to the color settings affect all users that log on to the computer.

*Only the recommended color settings are listed. For additional settings, click the Advanced button on the Settings tab, click the Adapter tab, and then click List all Modes. Select the resolution, color level, and refresh rate you want.

*If you are using multiple monitors, you can specify the color settings for each installed monitor. If you click the icon for a secondary monitor, the Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor check box must be selected to change the settings for that monitor.

*Whether you select Standard or ClearType from the list, you must have a video card and monitor that support a color setting of at least 256 colors. Best results are achieved with High color (24-bit) or Highest color (32-bit) support. Click the Settings tab to set Color quality.

It might just be your computer, or it might be the site you got the layout from. Try using a layout, saving it, and then look at your profile.
Did you put in the code then click save all changes. If that still does not work then just pick another layout
